Some pictorial updates - Jan - Mar 09

Some pictorial updates for the past 3 months since both Daddy and Mommy were too busy (lazy) to update the blogs already.

05 Jan 09 - Randal's first day at Apple-tree playgroup. According to his Nai Nai's updates (Nai Nai was the one to send Randal to playgroup instead of Daddy and Mommy!), Randal simply had no problem accustomed to the new environment and was able to mingle well with the young kids in his playgroup. We reckoned that he may be too bored and could not find much amusement at home, especially with his tiresome old folks like us!!! We are indeed very much delighted that he is still enjoying his playgroup session and eagerly looking forward to the playgroup every day.

01 Feb 09 - Exploring the cultural village of the River Hong Bao at Marina Square. Our little boy had not much interest in the cultural village exploration. His eyes only sparkled when Mommy got him an ice-cream. Nevertheless, we still managed to complete the exploration with a super patient Daddy carrying a stodgy boy throughout the walk.

21 Mar 09 - A mini threesome outing together at Clarke Quay. Again, our little boy simply has no interest in our attempted leisure walk along the quay nor is he interested in the G-Max Reverse Bungy that was catapulting high up in the sky. Guess the only place that will catch his attention is playground, playground and more playgrounds...

Little Indoor Playground at The Forum Shopping Mall

Just got to know this great little indoor playground at the Forum Mall from none other than my Cousin Zavier's family again...

No stopping for me when it comes to great fun and play. You can see me grining from ear to ear, especially learning that the little playground is created there just for little kiddos like us. No excuse from Daddy and Mommy for keeping me indoor at home cos the playground is wet, anymore!!!

Rainforest Kidzworld in the Singapore Zoo

Another big time at the Singapore Zoo but our boy was not interested in the main attractions (animals) in the zoo at all...

While everyone was happily enjoying the wild discovery trails like the tigers, boars, baboons, reptiles and the star animal shows of the funny orang utans and the splashing seals, our boy was, however, not as enthusiastic and energetic as his cousin Zavier and Ashlyn mei mei.

Not much smile and engery level throughout the trails until we reached the Rainforest Kidzworld which was deemed the most anticipated highlight of the day; especially true to our boy.

He was all smiles and having so much fun playing in the water-theme park area that he would not want to move on to the other playground which was dry. Even Mommy and Daddy were fascinated by the sudden massive flow of water tipped over from the bucket in the water play area, not to mention our little boy.

We were drop-dead tired after spending half a day at the Singapore Zoo but our boy was still very energetic even through to the evening after dinner at Novena Square. Maybe could be due to the presence and fun company of little Zaiver...

Outdoor playground at Pasir Ris

It was an exciting day for me last weekend. Daddy decided to take me to the big outdoor playground at Pasir Ris Park.

It took us more than 1.5hr of bus-rides to reach the destination, inclusive of 20mins waiting-time for the feeder bus service from the Pasir Ris bus interchange to Pasir Risk Park.
Anyway, no complaint after reaching the big playground. I enjoyed myself thoroughly with the climb, slide, swing, see-saw, bumpy rides, bridges, etc.

I was drop-dead tired after all the fun activities and fell asleep on the bus journey back home.

Picture of Father and Son staring at the tiny light across the horizon before heading home.

A big hugz to Daddy who make the effort to bring boy-boy out instead of "chaining" him at home with two boring old souls. ;p

Introducing Janelle Mei-Mei

Introducing Janelle mei-mei, the lovely little princess of Uncle Edmund and Auntie Jacqui...

Look at the tenderness, love and caring a father can be...there is something special about a father's love...

When Randal was a baby, Daddy would hold him in his arm just the same as doting father Edmund. So did our little boy miss the moment that he would look up into Daddy's eyes and see the love from Daddy? We wonder...

Little Randal was very shy when he was first introduced to Janelle mei-mei. He did not have much "interaction" time with Janelle mei-mei as mei-mei was still a very young baby (less than 4 months old). Boy-boy, wait till Janelle mei-mei is little older, ok?

As usual, our little boy enjoys being cuddled and sitting on people's lap. And of course, he would seize any opportunity to be cuddled, especially in the arms of beautiful Auntie Jacqui. (simply buay pai sei - not shy at all).

He is even much more bold when it comes to food. He would want to have a share of everything that is on the table. And he was so "infatuated" with the strawberry shortcake which Auntie Jacqui had ordered for herself, that he ate up the whole slice of cake without feeling any guilt. Greedy little boy-boy!

Another fun day out at the indoor gym - Bambini

Here's another day of fun at Bambini, another indoor gym, recommended by my cousin Zavier.

Think cannot rely on Daddy and Mommy too much else I will be just like the frog in the well. Think the few fun places that Daddy and Mommy know of are mostly HDB playgrounds and Kiddy Palace around our area. I guess they are either too lazy to bring me out for explosure or simply not as street-smart and adventurous as Zhiming shu-shu and Fengyan shen-shen.

Guess I must buy more sweets for my cousin Zavier so that he would bring me along to all these fun places next time when we grow up. Keke..

Happy 2nd Birthday!!!

Specially dedicated to our little boy-boy who just turned TWO...

Those were the days before two…
Give him a pair of shoe and he would walk like adults do
But now
He will just asked you to carry him like Scooby Doobly do

Those were the days before two…
Give him a pen and he would fiddle with it like cavemen do
But now
He will show you his master piece all over places like artists do

Those were the days before two…
Give him a packet drink and he would toss it around like clowns do
But now
He will show you how to pop a straw and drink it like Fido Dido do

Those were the days before two…
Give him a book and he would flip the pages like all toddlers do
But now
He will put hands on his face and ran away like dishes and spoons do

Those were the days before two…
Give him a towel and he would sit quietly to be bathed and dressed
But now
He will run away naked with his Nai-Nai chasing like Tom and Jerry do

Those were the days before two…
Give him a high-chair and he would wait patiently for his food
But now
He will signal you and search for food like hungry giraffes do

Those were the days before two…
Give him a short video to watch and he will sit still from start to end
But now
He will play with the controller and switch from channel one to nine

Those were the days before two…
Give him some music and he will move his head from left to right
But now
He will dance and sway with Zavier Di-Di from PIE to CTE

Those were the days before two…
So many memories to be shared and unfold
And we still have so many years to go
To see our little boy-boy progress steady and well, healthy and tall

And today our little boy-boy is TWO
We wish him everything the best like any parent would wish for
And we want our little boy-boy to know
That we are still very thankful and feel blessed above all
To cuddle, hold and call Randalzj, our precious of all

Happy Birthday and a beautiful year ahead from TWO…

A fun day out at the Indoor Gym at Turf City

Again, I got to know about this exciting indoor gym at Turf City through my cousin Zavier. Sotong Mommy didn't even know there is such a big indoor gym for the kids in Singapore. And she was so absent-minded that she forgotten to ask or check out the name of this kids' paradise before leaving the place.

I really had so much fun that I kept waking up and disrupted Daddy and Mommy's sleep that night (over-stimulated liao). Anyway, the place is highly recommended. But guess can't go there often cos the admission rate is not cheap leh.

No. 1 in Food and Play

Just like Mommy, our little boy simply loves salty and tasty food. But our boy fare better than his fussy and picky Mommy. He dares to experiment with any kind of food. Perhaps all kids are like that; so curious and adventurous.

And just like Daddy, our little boy simply loves chicken curry and any spicy food with chili fakes and sauces. He can take roti-prata with fish gravy, bee hoon with sambal chili and fries dip with chili sauces. Best part of all, he can even complete with Mommy to finish the whole plate of salsa on its own.

That's why when comes to Food and Play, he is No. 1. But when comes to Milk and Reading, he will be no where in sight. ;p

At this stage, our little boy seem much fascinated with all kind of balls; football, volleyball, basketball and also bowling...Impressive, right? Nah, nah, he's not that expert la. He doesn't even know how to play the real games.

All he likes to do is to pick up the ball (if he see any), and just kick it, chase it or simply throw it around. Well, guess all kids are the same. And here's a short video clip of him mimicking a basketball player.

We also discovered that our little boy enjoyed most playing together with people. And he gets real excited and happy especially when his cousin is around. Somehow, he doesn't seem to like playing alone by himself. Perhaps he's too dependent already? Anyway, doesn't seem to matter for now...

A fun day out at the theme parks in Botanic Garden

Wow, I didn't know that there are so many different kind of theme parks for the kids in the Botanic Garden. What I loved most is the jungle-trail theme park with slides and the playground with sand.

Despite my occassional fussing and crying for Daddy and Nai Nai to carry me at some intervals, I truly enjoyed myself overall. Again, credit goes to my cousin Zavier and family.

Here's the snapshot of my day-out at the theme parks...

Zheng Jie's little progress updates

It had been months since the last post for our boy but there's nothing much to update on our boy's progress. Overall development progress is still quite ok, or at least we thought so...

Our little boy is still very playful, restless and especially clingy. And he still doesn't seem to show any interest to read. He will be restless the moment we tried to read to him and we wonder how he would be attentive in school like that? *Faint*

But at least he has shown some interest in "arts" or so to speak...but don't be mis-understood, it's not those artistic kind of art piece on paper though. He is only very keen in "beautifying" our living/dinning chairs, tables, walls and even our bedsheets with any pen or pencil that he could find on our tables (even though we had tried our best to hide the stationery from his view and reach).

We don't know whether to reprimand him or praise him as he will always comes to us and shows us his master piece after all he has done. Then he will grin from ear to ear watching at our unbelieveable expressions. We honestly think that he thought we were very much impressed by his master piece... Or perhaps, he was just trying to get our attention? *Faint, Faint*

There is another headache that we are facing now; our boy doesn't seem to like to walk very much. He prefers to be carried than to walk on foot. Most of the time, he will prefer his Daddy or Nai Nai to carry him. And if no one attends to his desire to be carried, he will immediately squats on the floor; refuses to walk any further and cries so loudly that all the eyes will be on us. Eventually, we have no choice but to carry him and move on. And almost immediately, his crying will stop.

Ever since then, he has learned to use this very effective "fake crying" method to get exactly what he wants from us - basically any thing, any time, any where. *Faint, Faint, Faint*

My very first excursion to the Singapore Zoo!

It was a bright, sunny and cheery morning on a Good Friday. Together with my cousin Zavier and family, we headed north to the Singapore Zoo.

It was my very first excursion to the Zoo and please don't ask me if I enjoyed the trip or not cos I simply fell asleep half-way through the trail.

I could only manage to catch some glimpse of the different types of monkeys, reptiles, birds, hippos, tigers, bears, kangeroos, turtles, penguins but missed the rest of animals, like giraffles, zebras, lions, cheetahs, rhino, etc.

And I could only manage to catch just one elephant show and sad to say, I didn't even managed to sit still and complete watching the show. Oh ya, I really salute to those little ones who can watch attentively till the end of the show. For me, I am simply too restless at this age. ;p

Happy New Year 2008!

HAPPY NEW YEAR 2008!!!

Well, well...what will be Daddy and Mommy's most wanted aspiration for me? Doctor? lawyer? Musician? Nah, definitely not at this stage...Perhaps a more obedient, happier and smarter boy instead. *Yawn* What a boring wish for the new year...

Ok, here's a more realistic resolution for myself this year. I will try to learn to appreciate simple music, ok? I promise I will be good and care for the musical instrument and not banging and destroying them like I did in the toys department. Lucky for me, none of the sales ladies have seen my destructive act else I would have a hard beating from Daddy and Mommy already.

Huh? Ask me to compose music??? Oh please la, please spare me...I am just 1 year plus and not the music-gifted one. As long as I don't throw the instrument and tear the parts apart, I am considered quite a good boy and would have accomplish the goal I'd set for this year already. Right? Keke...

Merry Christmas 2007

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL!!!

We did not bring our boy boy out to enjoy the festive celebration happening downtown on christmas day. Basically, the three of us just idle at home...Yes, doing nothing but eat, sleep, play and staring the computer screen all day (if our boy boy allows).

Well, reckon must be very boring for our little boy boy but we have all the excuses to keep our boy at home. Excuses like it was too crowded outside la, Mommy was not feeling well la, boy boy still cannot walk steadily la, too many things to do at home la...but the truth is Daddy and Mommy are simply too lazy to go out la. ;p

But at least we got bring boy boy out for some shopping fun and experiences of the pre-christmas atmosphere and mood out there, right?

Ok, we promise boy boy that we will bring you out next christmas ok? We promise we will not keep you at home on the next christmas day, ok? Come on, give Daddy and Mommy your big sunshine smile...

My Cousin's 1st Birthday - 3rd Nov 2007!!!

Wow, it was my very first time attending such a great birthday party...and the birthday boy is none other than my handsome cousin, ZAVIER!!!

Oh boy, the place was decorated with lots of beautiful ballons and Pooh banners. There were even pictures and posters of my adorable cousin for guests' viewing. Guess Zhiming shu-shu and Fengyan shen-shen must have put in a lot of efforts to make this birthday celebration such a success...

And here's a little private session with my buddy...

Our BB can walk!

Hurray, I can walk with the assistance of this "push-cart", a gift from Zhiming shu-shu and Fengyan shen-shen...I can walk freely finally!!!

Hey, Mommy is wrong! I don't even need to learn how to crawl first before I can start to do the walking. See, I can walk steadily with the "push-cart" even though I haven't mastered the proper crawling milestone yet.

Oh boy...Look at this! My favourite "cow rocker", a gift from uncle Edmund and Jackie yi-yi. I am having so much fun riding on the cow. Hip, hip...Hurray!

BB's First Year Birthday

Specially dedicated to our little boy boy who just turns ONE...

Oh, it’s your very first birthday, boy-boy
Daddy and Mommy had thought about how to celebrate
We thought of making it big and grand, boy-boy
But instead we came to a conclusion to make it exclusive…

We ordered cake from Pine Garden, boy-boy
Lychee martini with simple customization was what they recommended
We wanted to order mini buffer from Four Seasons, boy-boy
In the end we settled for a table of 11 with 2 babies at Pu Tien…

We gathered everyone in our place, boy-boy
Your smile stretched from ear to ear
An icing cake with a single candle to celebrate, boy-boy
The joys of your very first year with gifts and blessings from all…

We sang you a Happy Birthday song, boy-boy
From English to Mandarin version we all sang
We marveled at how quickly the time had flown, boy-boy
Oh my, your first 12 months had been simply so wonderful…

You bring sunshine to our everyday life, boy-boy
You are our treasured prize and we’re just so proud of you
We couldn’t have wished for a better son, boy-boy
Who giggle and cling onto us like Scooby Doobly Do...

For the first 6 months you were really guai (obedient), boy-boy
You sit still in high-chair and were quite quiet for awhile
You spent a lot of time in the pink rocking chair, boy-boy
But when we switched you to walker and you started to smile and fly…

Your favorite is baby bites (biscuit) and yogurt, boy-boy
As for water and milk, you really struggled to swallow
But what you love most is the human company, boy-boy
So everywhere we go, you are sure to follow…

Your determination and temper match Mommy, you know
And you’ve playfully display the stubbornness and frowning like Mommy…
You love to watch peek-a-poo (and baby animation), you know
You’re always excited when we switch on the TV set...

You really love having bath full of bubbles, you know
You make us laugh with your splish, splash and splosh...
Your first words were mun (not mum), ba (not pa) and Aei (not wei), you know
And you love to play with your saliva with “boo-boo”

We would say “1, 2, 3, clap, clap, clap”, you know
And you would put your hand together and clap
We would shout “No, cannot touch”, you know
And you would simply smile at us and ignore our scream…

Now, you’ve started to take your very first steps (assisted), boy-boy
Fast or slow doesn’t matter much...
We look forward now to seeing you progress and grow, boy-boy
Take your own pace; strong and steady is all that we care

To our little pup of just one year, boy-boy
We wish you the happiest 1st Birthday…
Here’s to you, little Randal,
You’re our star and we love you very much
Here’s to you, little Randal,
We looking forward to another wonderful year ahead...
